The fourth self-titled album from the band is a concept record centered around their experiences in and relationship with California. Drawing lyrical inspiration from people-watching around Los Angeles, the album combines the crunchy power pop of their early work with a bright, beach-inspired sound. It was met with widespread critical acclaim and received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.
