Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released relatively quickly as a companion piece to the fuzz-heavy electric rock of 'Star Wars', the Chicago veterans deliver an exceptionally quiet, acoustic-driven record. The album features remarkably subdued instrumentation, gentle percussion, and Jeff Tweedy's nostalgic, slightly cynical lyrical reflections on childhood and Midwestern isolation. It boasts striking, darkly humorous cover art provided by Spanish illustrator Joan Cornell脿.
