Album Notes & Community Reviews
Finally gaining complete creative control over his music, Willie Nelson effectively birthed the Outlaw Country movement with this effortlessly brilliant, incredibly relaxed masterpiece. 'Shotgun Willie' is wonderfully mellow and fiercely melodic, mixing delightfully humorous, highly playful honky-tonk swing with deeply pastoral, surprisingly melancholic acoustic reflections on alcohol and heartbreak.
