Album Notes & Community Reviews

For this album Wu Man performs alongside musicians from Ukraine, Uganda and Appalachia, setting her pipa in dialogue with three other string traditions. A founding member of Yo-Yo Ma's Silkroad Ensemble, she had made cross-cultural collaboration the centre of her work. The sessions treat each tradition as an equal partner rather than decoration.
