Iron Flag
by Wu-Tang Clan
Released rapidly on the heels of their previous sprawling double album, 'Iron Flag' provides a much leaner, more aggressive statement from the legendary Staten Island collective. Noticeably lacking the eccentric presence of Ol' Dirty Bastard due to his incarceration, the remaining members deliver dense, combative lyricism over RZA's gritty, sped-up soul samples. The record successfully reestablished their raw, street-level hardcore hip-hop foundation.
