Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Knife Play' is a harrowing, confrontational debut that merges experimental rock with elements of synth-punk and noise pop. Xiu Xiu explores themes of extreme depression and personal trauma through anxious, discordant instrumentation and highly vulnerable, erratic vocal performances. It is a deeply uncomfortable but powerful indie rock milestone.
