Album Notes & Community Reviews

Performing at a Michigan art institute, this deeply atmospheric set wonderfully incorporates non-Western instrumentation and Eastern philosophical themes into a driving hard bop framework. The fiercely spiritual, highly exploratory solos boldly signaled an early, vital shift toward global modal jazz.
