Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released on the short-lived Charlie Parker Records imprint, 'Lost in Sound' captures Yusef Lateef navigating a relatively straightforward hard bop setting. While his trademark use of non-Western instrumentation is less prominent here than on other 1962 releases, his command of the tenor saxophone and muscular phrasing remain front and center. It is a solid, swinging date that highlights his deep roots in the Detroit jazz scene.
