Album Notes & Community Reviews

Continuing to expand the palette of modern jazz, the multi-instrumentalist heavily incorporates Middle Eastern and Asian tonal concepts into a hard bop framework. His pioneering use of unconventional instruments like the argol and flute provided a deeply spiritual, globalized counterpoint to standard East Coast swinging.
