Album Notes & Community Reviews
The endlessly inventive multi-reedist leaned into heavily textured, cross-genre arrangements on this highly sophisticated Atlantic Records session. Supported by a remarkably robust ensemble, the complex tracks integrate subtle R&B grooves, deep Eastern modalities, and sweeping string orchestrations. It effectively demonstrates his unparalleled ability to bridge traditional hard bop with the burgeoning spiritual and fusion movements.
