The Dreamer

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Continuing his unique integration of unconventional woodwinds into the hard bop framework, the multi-instrumentalist prominently features the oboe alongside his robust tenor saxophone. The quintet navigates deeply swinging blues and slightly exotic original compositions with remarkable cohesion. The recording successfully highlights his early efforts to expand the timbral possibilities of modern jazz.
