Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded live in the studio under the direction of Steve Albini, 'The Fear Is What Keeps Us Here' presents Zao at their most abrasive and unpolished. The analog recording process perfectly captures the band's dense, dissonant guitar work and fiercely aggressive hardcore roots. The record explores notably darker, chaotic lyrical themes, pushing the boundaries of their foundational Christian metalcore sound.
