Biography
A Certain Ratio is a Manchester band formed in 1977, early signings to #Factory Records# who fused post-punk with funk, disco and Latin percussion. Founders Simon Topping and Peter Terrell left in the early 1980s, leaving Jez Kerr, Martin Moscrop and, from 1979, Donald Johnson as the long-serving core, joined over the years by Andy Connell, Tony Quigley, Denise Johnson and Matt Steele. Albums from 'To Each...' and 'Sextet' to 'ACR Loco' and '1982' document a career of constant reinvention.
