Biography
Afro Kolektyw is a Warsaw band founded in 1999 by Michał "Afrojax" Hoffmann and Paweł "Nestor" Rymsza. Beginning as a two-man hip-hop project that played its own instruments on 'Negatywne wibracje' and 'Płyta pilśniowa', it grew into a full live band for 'Czarno widzę' and 'Połącz kropki', mixing hip-hop with acid jazz, funk and humour-filled, ironic lyrics about Polish life. Later albums, including 'Piosenki po polsku', '46 minut Sodomy' and the comeback record 'Ostatnie Słowo', moved toward melodic pop songwriting.
