Biography
Alabaster DePlume, born Angus Fairbairn in Manchester, England, is an English saxophonist, spoken-word poet and composer based between Manchester and London. Working with large, under-rehearsed ensembles, he fuses spiritual jazz, folk-like melody and gentle spoken word. After early albums such as 'Copernicus' and 'Peach', he broke through with 'To Cy & Lee: Instrumentals Vol. 1' in 2020 and 'Gold' in 2022 for #International Anthem#, music built on generosity, vulnerability and collective improvisation.
