Altarage

Biography

Altarage is a secretive and largely anonymous avant-garde metal band from Bilbao, Spain, that emerged in 2015. Their sound is a punishing and suffocating blend of blackened death metal, characterized by overwhelming dissonance, chaotic song structures, and a dense, murky production style. The band incorporates significant elements of industrial and harsh noise, creating a terrifying and wholly oppressive sonic atmosphere. After gaining underground attention with their 'MMXV' demo, they released their acclaimed debut 'Nihl' in 2016. Subsequent albums on labels like #Season of Mist# and #Sentient Ruin Laboratories#, including 'The Approaching Roar' and 'Succumb', have further cemented their reputation as one of extreme music's most challenging and uncompromising acts.
