Amp

Biography

Amp is the London space rock project begun by Richard Walker in 1992 and centred since the mid 1990s on Walker and French vocalist Karine Charff. Emerging from the same Bristol scene as *Flying Saucer Attack*, *Crescent* and *The Third Eye Foundation*, Amp built albums such as 'Sirenes', 'Stenorette' and 'L'Amour Invisible' from guitar feedback, hushed French and English vocals, loops and long ambient drifts. A rotating cast of collaborators surrounds the duo, and later releases on Walker's #Ampbase# label have kept the sound suspended between shoegaze, drone and kosmische electronics.
