Biography
A Rock in Opposition founding band from Valenciennes, Art Zoyd built a severe, theatrical music from rock instrumentation, contemporary classical harmony and, later, electronics and film work. Albums such as 'Symphonie pour le jour où brûleront les cités' (1976) and 'Phase IV' (1982) made them peers of *Univers Zéro* and *Magma* in the European avant-rock underground, where their uncompromising catalogue still commands a devoted international following today.
