Biography
Canadian singer and songwriter from Ontario whose skate punk image and confessional pop rock made her one of the best-selling artists of the 2000s. Avril Lavigne signed to #Arista Records# at sixteen and broke through with 'Let Go' (2002) and its singles 'Complicated' and 'Sk8er Boi'. She followed it with 'Under My Skin' (2004), 'The Best Damn Thing' (2007), 'Goodbye Lullaby' (2011), 'Avril Lavigne' (2013) and 'Head Above Water' (2019), the last shaped by her experience of Lyme disease. 'Love Sux' (2022) marked a deliberate return to the pop punk sound that first made her famous.
