Biography
Bastro was a Washington, D.C. post-hardcore band active from 1987 to 1991, led by David Grubbs with Clark Johnson and John McEntire. Its two albums, 'Diablo Guapo' (1989) and 'Sing the Troubled Beast' (1991), delivered fast, abrasive and intricately arranged rock. Grubbs and McEntire later formed the duo *Gastr del Sol*. Its records anticipated the math rock of the following decade.
