black midi

black midi

black midi was an English experimental rock band formed in London, known for their volatile and virtuosic sound that blended math rock, avant-jazz, and post-punk. The core trio of Geordie Greep, Cameron Picton, and Morgan Simpson released three acclaimed and progressively complex albums on #Rough Trade Records#: 'Schlagenheim', 'Cavalcade', and 'Hellfire'. Emerging from the influential Windmill scene in Brixton, the band quickly gained a reputation for their intense, improvisational live shows and intricate musicianship. After founding guitarist Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin took a hiatus in 2021, the band continued as a trio before announcing an indefinite hiatus in August 2024 to focus on solo work.
