Biography
Blind Guardian are a power metal band from Krefeld, Germany, formed in 1984 as Lucifer's Heritage. Singer Hansi Kürsch, guitarists André Olbrich and Marcus Siepen and drummer Thomas Stauch recorded from 'Battalions of Fear' (1988) to 'A Night at the Opera' (2002), building the band's reputation on fantasy-inspired albums such as 'Nightfall in Middle-Earth' (1998). Drummer Frederik Ehmke replaced Stauch in 2005, and the quartet's recent albums include 'Beyond the Red Mirror' (2015) and 'The God Machine' (2022).
