Biography
Bobby Darin was a Bronx-born singer who moved from the self-written teen hits 'Splish Splash' (1958) and 'Dream Lover' (1959) to the Grammy-winning 'Mack the Knife' (1959) and 'Beyond the Sea' (1960) on #Atco Records#, rivalling Sinatra as a standards stylist while still in his twenties. He won a Golden Globe for 'Come September', earned an Oscar nomination for 'Captain Newman, M.D.', turned to folk in the later 1960s, and died in 1973, aged 37.
