Biography
Formed in São Paulo in 1984 by former Titãs co-founder Ciro Pessoa, Cabine C was a short-lived pioneer of Brazilian post-punk and gothic rock. Combining ethereal synths, darkwave rhythms, and literary lyrics inspired by Edgar Allan Poe and Charles Baudelaire, the group released their sole album, Fósforos de Oxford, in 1986. Despite disbanding shortly after in 1987, Cabine C remains an enduring cult classic of 1980s South American alternative music.
