Swedish death metal band from Saltsjöbaden, formed in 1988 by Lars Rosenberg. The trio of Rosenberg (bass, vocals), Christofer Johnsson (guitar, vocals) and Piotr Wawrzeniuk (drums) recorded three increasingly experimental studio albums: 'For the Security' (1991), 'Disharmonization' (1993) and the psychedelic 'Screaming Machines' (1996). Carbonized never formally disbanded, but the band has been silent since 1996, while Johnsson went on to lead *Therion* to international success.
