Brooklyn crossover thrash trio formed in 1982 by bassist and singer Peter Steele and drummer Louie Beato, first with guitarist Keith Alexander and then with Marc Piovanetti. Carnivore paired thrash metal with hardcore aggression, satire and deliberate provocation on 'Carnivore' and 'Retaliation' for #Roadrunner Records#, before Steele left to form *Type O Negative*. Periodic reunions ended with Steele's death in 2010.
