Celeste

Celeste is an Italian progressive rock band formed in Sanremo in 1972. Emerging from the dissolution of the group *Il Sistema*, Celeste created a pastoral and symphonic sound that stood apart from their more aggressive contemporaries. Their classic 1976 debut album, 'Principe di un Giorno', released on #Grog Records#, is a cornerstone of the Rock Progressivo Italiano genre, celebrated for its delicate arrangements, lush Mellotron textures, and prominent flute melodies. The band initially split in 1977, but their work gained a cult following over the decades. Founder *Ciro Perrino* revived the Celeste name in 2016, leading a new lineup to create music that continues the ethereal spirit of the original incarnation.
