Biography
Chicane is the stage name of English electronic producer Nicholas Bracegirdle, born in London and raised in Chalfont St Giles. After early work in the duo *Disco Citizens*, he began recording as Chicane in 1996, releasing 'Far from the Maddening Crowds' in 1997. The singles 'Offshore', 'Saltwater' (1999) and 'Don't Give Up' (2000), featuring *Bryan Adams*, made him a central figure in melodic trance, and albums including 'Behind the Sun', 'Somersault', 'Giants', 'Thousand Mile Stare' and 'The Sum of Its Parts' followed. He has remixed for artists such as *BT* and remains active three decades on.
