Biography
Citizen is an American rock band from Michigan and Ohio that has evolved from a foundation of post-hardcore and emo to a broader indie and alternative rock sound. Formed in 2009, the band, led by vocalist Mat Kerekes, gained significant traction with their 2013 debut album 'Youth' on #Run for Cover Records#. Subsequent releases, including 'Everybody Is Going to Heaven', 'As You Please', and 'Calling the Dogs', have showcased their dynamic range, shifting from raw, aggressive energy to more melodic and experimental textures. Now a quintet including members of *Title Fight*, Citizen is celebrated for their emotionally charged songwriting and energetic live performances.
