Biography
French jazz-funk band founded in Paris in 1974 by Alain Mion and Alain Gandolfi. With singer Mireille Dalbray, Cortex recorded the cult album 'Troupeau Bleu' in 1975, mixing jazz-funk, bossa nova and soul. Heavy hip hop sampling of its tracks from the 1990s onward revived interest in the group, and Mion has led revived line-ups on tour across Europe and North America since 2009.
