Biography
Cranes are an English dream pop band from Portsmouth, formed in 1985 by siblings Alison and Jim Shaw. Alison's childlike, helium-toned singing over dark, shimmering guitars defined albums such as 'Wings of Joy', 'Forever' and 'Loved' for #Dedicated Records#, the last phase including guitarists Mark Francombe and Matt Cope. After a late-1990s hiatus, the Shaws revived Cranes on their own #Dadaphonic# label with 'Future Songs' and 'Particles & Waves'.
