Croz Boyce

Croz Boyce is an American instrumental duo formed by longtime *Animal Collective* members Dave Portner (*Avey Tare*) and Brian Weitz (*Geologist*). The project grew out of their 2022 collaboration on the track “Brown Thrasher,” inspiring them to explore a sound centered on acoustic guitar and electronics. Working remotely between North Carolina and Washington, D.C., the pair developed their self-titled debut album, 'Croz Boyce', which was released on May 8, 2026, via #Domino Records#. The music blends Portner's guitar themes with Weitz's layered synthesizers and experimental soundscapes, reflecting their decades-long musical rapport in a new, more spacious context.
