Biography
Dead Boys was a Cleveland punk band formed in 1976 by Stiv Bators, Cheetah Chrome, Jimmy Zero, Johnny Blitz, and Jeff Magnum. Their debut 'Young, Loud and Snotty' (1977) and its anthem 'Sonic Reducer' made them first-wave punk legends before the 1980 split; the name was revived in 2017. Their chaotic stage show, with Bators cutting himself and swinging from lighting rigs, set a template for punk provocation on both sides of the Atlantic.
