Biography
Dead Prez are a New York hip-hop duo formed in 1996 by stic.man (born Clayton Gavin) and M-1 (born Lavonne Alford), who met at *Florida A&M University* and came to rap through political activism. Signed to #Loud Records# after *Lord Jamar* championed them, they debuted with 'Lets Get Free' (2000), home to 'Hip-Hop', and followed it with 'RBG (Revolutionary But Gangsta)' (2004) and 'Information Age' (2012). Their confrontational, Pan-African lyrics made them defining voices of political hip-hop.
