Deafkids

Biography

Deafkids are a Brazilian band known for their genre-defying sound that merges the raw aggression of d-beat, punk, and noise with complex polyrhythms and psychedelic textures. Originally a trio, now a duo, the band draws heavily from Latin American and Afro-Caribbean musical traditions, creating a sound described as both future-primitive and intensely modern. After gaining international attention, they signed to #Neurot Recordings#, the label founded by *Steve Von Till* of *Neurosis*. Key albums like 'Configuração do Lamento' and 'Metaprogramação' showcase their sonic evolution, blending frenetic energy with hypnotic, trance-inducing grooves and a potent political consciousness shaped by their Brazilian identity.
