Biography
Doll by Doll were a London band led by Scottish singer Jackie Leven, active from 1977 to 1982. Built on the four part harmony singing of Leven, Jo Shaw, David McIntosh and, first, Robin Spreafico and then Tony Waite, their records mixed rock, soul and psychedelia at a time when the music press favoured new wave. They released four studio albums, 'Remember' and 'Gypsy Blood' in 1979, 'Doll by Doll' in 1981 and 'Grand Passion' in 1982, the first two on the #Automatic# label and the later pair on #Magnet Records#.
