Ed O'Brien

Biography

As a founding member of Radiohead, guitarist Ed O'Brien is renowned for his innovative approach to the instrument, prioritizing ambient textures and sonic architecture over conventional rhythm playing. His signature sound is built upon an extensive use of effects pedals—especially delay, looping, and pitch-shifters—and tools like the EBow, which are crucial to Radiohead's layered, atmospheric identity. This textural focus also defines his solo work under the moniker EOB, which began with the 2020 album 'Earth', released on #Capitol Records#. Inspired by his time living in Brazil, the album saw him collaborate with artists like his bandmate *Colin Greenwood*, *Laura Marling*, and *Adrian Utley* of *Portishead*.
