Biography
Electric Wizard are an English doom metal band formed in Wimborne, Dorset, in 1993 by guitarist and singer Jus Oborn. Their albums 'Come My Fanatics...' (1997) and 'Dopethrone' (2000), released by #Rise Above Records#, set a standard for downtuned, bass heavy riffing wrapped in horror film and occult imagery, and 'Dopethrone' is now regarded as a landmark of doom and stoner metal. Guitarist Liz Buckingham joined in 2003 and became Oborn's long term creative partner. Later records include 'Witchcult Today' (2007), 'Time to Die' (2014) and 'Wizard Bloody Wizard' (2017), and the band remains a fixture of the international doom circuit.
