Biography
Eric Johnson is an Austin, Texas guitarist celebrated for his pristine tone and genre-crossing virtuosity. After early work with *Mariani* and *Electromagnets*, he broke through solo with 'Tones' (1986) and 'Ah Via Musicom' (1990); its instrumental 'Cliffs of Dover' won a Grammy and remains his signature recording. He has recorded and toured steadily ever since, blending searing rock lead playing with jazz harmony, country picking and a famously singing, violin-like sustain.
