Biography
Eyehategod are a sludge metal band from New Orleans, Louisiana, formed in 1988 and now considered pioneers of the genre alongside *Melvins* and *Crowbar*. Built around vocalist Mike IX Williams and guitarist Jimmy Bower, their early albums 'In the Name of Suffering' (1990) and 'Take as Needed for Pain' (1993) mixed downtuned blues riffs, feedback and misanthropic lyrics. Drummer Joey LaCaze died in 2013 and was replaced by Aaron Hill; with bassist Gary Mader the band released 'A History of Nomadic Behavior' in 2021.
