Biography
Filter is the industrial rock vehicle of Richard Patrick, formed in Cleveland in 1993 with Brian Liesegang. The platinum debut 'Short Bus' (1995) and its single 'Hey Man, Nice Shot' established a sound built from programmed beats, distorted guitars and strained, confessional vocals. After Liesegang left, Patrick carried the name through 'Title of Record' (1999), whose 'Take a Picture' became a mainstream hit, and a long run of albums that alternate aggression with melody, most recently 'The Algorithm' (2023).
