Biography

Francisco López, born in Madrid in 1964, is a Spanish sound artist and experimental musician active since 1982. Working with environmental recordings gathered on six continents, he transforms field recordings from wilderness and industrial environments into immersive works of absolute concrete music. His best known album, 'La Selva' from 1998, was built from rainforest recordings made in Costa Rica. He has performed hundreds of concerts, often in total darkness to blindfolded audiences, and released his work through hundreds of labels worldwide.
