Biography
American blues-rock band formed in Wilmington, Delaware, in 1973, fronted by singer and slide guitarist George Thorogood with drummer Jeff Simon and bassist Billy Blough. Albums for #Rounder Records# led to a major-label breakthrough with 'Bad to the Bone' (1982), and gold records including 'Maverick' and 'Born to Be Bad'. With guitarist Jim Suhler and saxophonist Buddy Leach completing the modern lineup, the Destroyers remain one of America's most durable touring bands, built entirely around high-energy boogie and blues covers and originals.
