Biography
Graham Central Station was a funk band formed in Oakland in 1973 by Larry Graham, formerly of *Sly and the Family Stone*, out of a Bay Area band he had been producing. Its #Warner Bros. Records# albums 'Graham Central Station', 'Release Yourself' and 'Ain't No 'Bout-A-Doubt It', with the hit 'Your Love', defined its slap bass driven sound. After further albums including 'Mirror' and 'Star Walk' the band split in 1979, returning in the 1990s for 'GCS 2000' with *Prince* and in 2012 for 'Raise Up'.
