Biography
Harmonia was a West German krautrock supergroup formed in the rural village of Forst in 1973, when *Neu!* guitarist Michael Rother joined Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius of *Cluster*. Living communally and recording in their own studio, the trio fused Rother's motorik guitar with Cluster's electronic textures on 'Musik von Harmonia', released on #Brain# in 1974, and 'Deluxe' in 1975, the latter with guest drums from *Mani Neumeier* of *Guru Guru*. *Brian Eno* called them the world's most important rock group and recorded with them in 1976, though that material, 'Tracks and Traces', stayed unreleased until 1997. Harmonia dissolved in 1976, and the original trio reformed for live performances between 2007 and 2009. Their two albums remain landmarks of kosmische music and early ambient electronica.
