Biography
Harry Nilsson was an American singer-songwriter celebrated for his multi-octave vocal range and pioneering work in overdubbing. He achieved major success in the early 1970s despite famously refusing to tour or perform regular concerts. His eclectic work bridged 1960s baroque pop and the 1970s singer-songwriter era, incorporating Caribbean sounds and interpretations of the Great American Songbook. Though he wrote hits for others like *The Monkees* and *Three Dog Night*, his own biggest chart successes were covers, including 'Everybody's Talkin'' and 'Without You'. His albums 'Nilsson Schmilsson' and 'Son of Schmilsson' on #RCA Victor# were commercial high points.
