Released following the singer-songwriter's departure for RCA Victor, this early compilation gathers his incredibly rare, largely unsuccessful initial singles for Tower Records. Co-produced by Phil Spector affiliate Perry Botkin Jr., the collection heavily features dense, Wall of Sound-style orchestrations that occasionally obscure Nilsson's rapidly developing, highly sophisticated melodic sense and unique multi-tracked vocal techniques.
