Biography

Hector, born Heikki Harma in Helsinki, is a Finnish singer-songwriter central to Finnish-language rock. After a 1960s folk start, albums such as 'Nostalgia' (1972), 'Herra Mirandos' and 'Hectorock I' made his reputation, and songs like 'Liisa pien' became national standards. He also brought *Leonard Cohen*'s songs into Finnish. He remains a revered elder statesman of Finnish popular music, six decades after his debut.
