Biography
French singer and songwriter Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine, born in Dole in 1948, has recorded since 1978, beginning with '...tout corps vivant branché sur le secteur étant appelé à s'émouvoir...' and 'Autorisation de délirer'. Working in chanson and rock with collaborators handling much of the arranging, he is known above all for his lyrics: streams of consciousness full of surreal and blasphemous imagery, neologisms and literary references, drawing on *Léo Ferré*, *Bob Dylan* and *Lou Reed*. Largely ignored by French broadcast media, he nevertheless built a cult following large enough to sell out the Paris Bercy arena in 1998, and he remains active, with later albums including 'Géographie du vide' in 2021.
