Biography
Huun-Huur-Tu are a Tuvan throat-singing quartet founded in 1992 in Tuva, Russia, on the Mongolian border. Their khöömei singing produces a drone and its overtones at once, accompanied by traditional instruments including igil, doshpuluur and khomus. From '60 Horses in My Herd' onwards they carried Tuvan folk songs about the steppe and horses to international audiences, becoming the world's best-known exponents of throat singing.
